The dreaded exam result ...

So the day started at 3.30 am ... it was supposed to be 5.30 but I couldn't sleep. I was in school for 6.30 and the testing started 30 mins later. It consisted of an oral interrogation and practical (lots of practical) testing. And finally after about 7 1/2 hours I emerged at the far side victorious!! :)

Thank you all who were lifting me up in prayer today, you made the difference and I managed to stumble my way through the oral without missing a single question. The practicals all went well and it was mainly a matter of working my way through a long list of tasks. Passing today, means that I qualify to sit the official written exams which legally I can't do for another 2 weeks. So I guess that gives me some time to study, but only after taking a few days off from the books!

Today was a long but good day ... thanks again ... Nev

Goodbye winter ...

Well, it seems that spring is finally here and I can now say that I've survived a Michigan winter. All the snow has melted, I've packed away my ski stuff, and I praise God that I'm still alive and have survived driving in the ice and snow. Actually I really enjoyed the snow driving and my hand-braking skills have definitely improved. So the weather now is starting to ramp up, in fact just today it hit 21 C, but that's a bit above the norm. It is thunder storm time though and here is a pic (I didn't take it) that was taken about an hour away from here. Its really cool to watch, that is if i wasn't busy studying for these exams on Thursday.

Thank you all who have contacted me to wish me all the best, I appreciate all your intercession! I think I'm nearly  ready, but will still be cramming all I can right up to the last minute just in case. The average testing time seems to be around 8 hours so I should know by Thursday night how I've done. Watch this space for an update ...

Exam date

Well ... I just got my date for the big exams. It's set for Thursday the 29th March,. So I have 'T minus 22 days and counting' to get prepared for a day of torture by means of oral and practical testing. The test will last at least 1 day (perhaps 2 depending on the practical projects given), and upon sucessful completion I can then prepare for the written portion of the test which will be about a week later.

So it's panic stations time for the next few weeks, if anyone's looking for me ... I'll be the one locked in the library with my head in the books - I'd rather be flying!

Plans for the future

Hey folks ... I just got some exciting news last week about some plans for the future. As most of you know I've been looking at different possibilities for after school. Most people do an internship somewhere in the US so that they can hit the field running and be of use straight away. Well ... I wanted to do something similar but though if I this training actually in the field then I could be of use soon rather than later. So at this stage the plan is to finish school in Aug, fly for a few months in the US, and then head out to the southern island on Mindanao in the Philippines!

I'll be there for approx 6-9 months and work alongside a Wycliffe pilot/mechanic who has a lot of valuable experience. If all goes according to plan I should leave to go out at the beginning of Jan next year.

So thank you all who have been praying that my plans after school would take shape, God is certainly answering. I still don't have the flying opportunity in place to fill the gap from Aug - Dec so please continue to remember this in prayer.

I'll keep you posted as plans develop ... Nev
